Blue Hare

“Damn that looks awesome!” was the first thing that came to my mind when I picked up the newest pressing of Red Hare’s “Nites of Midnite.” The work on this is pretty amazing in my opinion. Now why can’t other labels do this?

Well, not only did Dischord churn out another piece of vinyl they also matched the front and back cover, as well as the insert to this new version. This was definitely above the call of duty. I don’t even think I could call this a second press since the differences pretty much constitutes a whole new release to me. Semantics…

This is what record collecting is all about. Such an awesome idea to change the cover art as well as the vinyl color. Looks great.

This is one of my favorite albums of the year, so I would have probably bought the second pressing regardless…but the blue vinyl, and changes to the packaging put it over the top. Dischord set the bar high on vinyl represses with this one.
