Joke’s on You

It’s very difficult to keep up with every new release that comes out. This becomes even more difficult if you don’t use certain media outlets like Facebook. I’ve never needed it and I don’t really think there is a need for me to start a personal account. Things like this put me in a bind though as I see random posts on Instagram of records that I didn’t even know got released. Where the fuck have I been?

It pisses me off sometimes but there are definitely other things that I need to focus on rather that worrying about having a Facebook account. It just kinda sucks that there are so many announcements done through there that I hear about these things more than a week later. One such release was the new Boson Strangler lp. I found out about this release when I started seeing posts about the record in Instagram. By the time I went to the Fun with Smack page, they were all sold out.

So, I started my search. I hoped that this wasn’t going to be like 2012 when the price of their first lp got really over inflated. Checked in on many distros and tried some DC shops, but alas many were sold out. I also checked Discogs and there were a few copies going for $40 and more already. Shitty. I wasn’t willing to pay that so soon after the release. It looked like this was going to be a debacle so I just decided to give up.

Luckily, where one media outlet failed me the one I use the most, Instagram, pulled through. Last week Deathwish posted that they got some distro items in and one of them happened to be “Fire”. I decided to check it out and was able to happily purchase one for regular price. If you still haven’t picked on up, it looks like they still have some for sale, here. Don’t get left out.

I love how I ordered a copy as soon as they became available, and yet you still have one in your hands before me.

  2. Sean says:

sign up to the viva la vinyl and check back there daily. pretty much anything of worth gets posted on there. that’s how i heard about this LP, well before any social media posts.

  3. I feel dumb. When I first saw this, I thought it was a repress of Primitive with a new cover. Doh.
